Our Commitment to Health and Safety
Spartan Inc.'s Safety Program includes a working partnership with Trinity Safety Company (TSC) in Bakersfield, CA. All training programs sub-contracted through TSC are Bi-Lingual. Some of the training provided by TSC includes:
- Confined Space Entrant
- Hot Work
- Isolation of Hazardous Energy
- Working at Heights
- Hazard Identification
- First Aid / CPR
New Employee Training
Spartan Inc. takes pride in maintaining the health and safety of all our employees from new employees to the seasoned veteran. Prior to starting work the new employee undergoes the following:
- Safety Orientation which includes a safety walk through the shop to identify all the hazards and mitigations
- PASSPORT training
- Pre-employment drug screen and random testing per Spartan Inc.'s Drug and Alcohol Policy
- Each new employee is assigned a mentor to assist them with learning the Spartan Inc Health and Safety Culture and their job duties
Spartan Inc. Health and Safety Success
At Spartan Inc. we use the following tools in accomplishing our Health and Safety goals:
- Written Safety Manual
- Bi-Monthly All-Hands Safety Talks
- Daily tailgate meetings with Crew Foreman and Crew Lead
- Safety walks in the shop are performed routinely by the Safety Manager to identify any unsafe behaviors
- Site Visits to field locations are completed by the Safety Manager and Managers routinely to identify unsafe behaviors and to verify policies are being followed
- Employee recognition for days with no recordable injuries
- Accountability for wearing Personal Protective Equipment
Mandatory PPE for daily fabrication include:
- Gloves
- Safety Glasses
- Full Face Shields
- Hard Hats
- Dust Mask
- Steel Toe Boots
- Full Face Respirators
